Letters of businessman and reformer Thomas Jefferson Coolidge, 1884-1905, consist of copies of manuscript and typescript letters by Coolidge, 8 Jan. 1884- 22 Sept. 1896; and letters to Coolidge, 19 Aug. 1886- 21 Feb. 1905. Letters to and from Coolidge mostly pertain to his business interest in the textile, railroad, and banking industries, among others, but also touch on his political interests as a Republican, role as a reformer, participation as a Harvard alumnus, and appointment as ambassador to France in 1892. Included is correspondence between Coolidge and his son Thomas Jefferson Coolidge II, president of Old Colony Trust Company, regarding various business collaborations.
